Tshepo Nzimande

Founder/Managing Director

Tshepo Nzimande is a distinguished South African music industry figure renowned for his leadership and visionary contributions. His journey in the industry has been marked by a series of pivotal roles and remarkable achievements.

In 1998, Tshepo's career took a significant turn when he joined Bula Music as a Public Relations Officer. His exceptional talents did not go unnoticed, leading Bula Music to offer him shares in the company and a pivotal role as Marketing Director. In this capacity, Tshepo played a crucial role in propelling Bula Music to new heights, leaving an indelible mark on the company's legacy.

Tshepo's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Zuz'muzi Music in 2008, a bold venture that further solidified his reputation in the music industry. His expertise and leadership qualities earned him board memberships in several influential organisations, including CAPASSO (Composers Authors & Publishers Associations), MCSA (Music Creators South Africa), Moshito Conference and Exhibition, SAMIC (South African Music Industry Council), AIRCO (Association for Independent Record Companies), and RAV (Risa Audio Visual). His involvement in these organisations has been instrumental in fostering the growth and development of the South African music industry.

Growing up in Soweto, Nzimande was acutely aware of the struggles families faced in providing dignified funerals for their loved ones, often exacerbated by poverty. He also recognised the challenges of youth unemployment. Motivated by these insights, he founded Ka Nzimande Funeral Undertakers to provide affordable, dignified funeral services, working closely with reputable suppliers. True to his commitment to social upliftment, he also focuses on creating employment opportunities for young people, bringing them on board as Sales Representatives for the company.

Nzimande's educational background includes attending the Small Business Programme at the University of Johannesburg and the Development Programme at the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa. His journey reflects a successful business career and a deep commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

Our Partnership with SAMRO

We are deeply committed to the South African music community. Our founder, Tshepo Nzimande, brings over thirty years of rich experience in the Entertainment Industry. His journey through the heart of South Africa's vibrant music scene has provided him with unique insights into the challenges faced by the families of music creators, especially during times of loss.

Understanding the financial and emotional burdens that can accompany the passing of a loved one in the music industry, we have forged a meaningful partnership with the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO). This collaboration is a significant step towards supporting the families of composers, lyricists, authors, and music publishers during their most difficult moments.

Through our partnership with SAMRO, we offer specialised funeral services tailored to the unique needs of the music community. We recognise the pivotal role these creators have played in enriching our cultural heritage and seek to honour their legacy with services that reflect the respect and admiration they deserve.

This initiative is more than a business collaboration; it's a heartfelt tribute to the artists who have shaped our musical landscape. By providing compassionate and dignified funeral services, we aim to ease the burden on the families of these cherished music creators, ensuring their final farewell is as memorable as the legacy they leave behind.

In this way, Ka Nzimande Funeral Undertakers serves as a bridge between life and the afterlife and a guardian of the rich musical heritage that forms an integral part of the South African identity.
